William Cody Christian, 22, ran through the gates of heaven on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Visitation will be Thursday, May 14, 2015 from 12pm-1pm at Fairview Baptist Church in Columbus, MS. A service will follow at 1pm with Bro. Chris Ellis officiating. Interment will be at Memorial Gardens, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home of Columbus, MS directing. Mr. Christian was born in Columbus, GA on June 18, 1992 to William Ralph Christian and Janice Christian Nelms. He moved to Columbus, MS in 2001 and was an active member of Fairview Baptist church and their youth group. He attended Victory Christian Academy and graduated in May 2011. He was also active in martial arts under Dennis McCown. He was a member of the Mississippi Baptist All-State Youth Choir and toured with them in 2010 and 2011. He attended Neumont University in Salt Lake City, Utah from 2011-2014. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Technology Operations Management and was employed by Oracle Corporation in Salt Lake City. Mr. Christian was preceded in death by his grandparents, Nellie Hydrick, Bill Hydrick, Ralph Christian, and Jimmie Nelms. He is survived by his mother Janice Christian Nelms; step-father Michael Allen Nelms; his father William Ralph Christian; brother Kyle Strider Christian; step-sisters Candy Christian Martin and Christy Christian Wilson; grandmother, Helen Christian; uncle Michael Ray Hydrick; aunt Debra Hydrick Martin and their families. Pallbearers will be Andrew Miller, Aaron Miller, John Leonard, Daniel Sisson, Clifton Sisson, and Andrew Sisson.
