Cora Mae Jones Perkins, 72, of Steens, MS passed away Friday, May 24, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-GT in Columbus, MS.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 26, 2019, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Columbus, MS. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM with Bro. Steve Lammons officiating and Bro. David Honeycutt assisting. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing.

Mrs. Perkins was born December 31, 1946, in Vernon, AL to the late Walter and Lola Banks Jones. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Columbus, MS. Mrs. Perkins married Larry Hubert Perkins on November 24, 1964, in Vernon, AL.  She worked for Maxxim Medical in accounts payable/receivable, National Bank of Commerce as a Branch Manager, and Wise Staffing Company as a Manager retiring after 18 years. Mrs. Perkins loved flowers, shopping and always enjoyed watching her grandchildren play ball. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her granddaughter- Katelyn Ray.

Mrs. Perkins is survived by her husband of 54 years- Hubert Perkins of Steens, MS; daughter- Tammy (Calvin) Ray of Steens, MS; son- Jeffery (Jannel) Perkins of Bradenton, FL; grandchildren- Lance Perkins, Laura Perkins, Chelsey Ray, Lauren Ray; brother- Marvin Perkins.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Moore, Steve Younger, Chuck Beasley, Russ Brown, Terry Fitch, Alan Fitch. Honorary Pallbearers will be Keith Swedenburg, Rex Swedenburg, Todd Graham, and Juanice Hayes' Sunday School Class.
