Curtiss Kinard, 77, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2022.

Funeral services are scheduled at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 8, 2022, at Lowndes Funeral Home, with Judge Jim Kitchens officiating.

Curtiss was born on June 18, 1945, to the late Sadie Jolly Kinard and Tom Kinard.  He attended and played football for EMCC, and completed his education at Mississippi State University.  After serving his country as Captain in the US Army, he was involved with the VFW, where he was a founding member and served as President and Vice President of the Columbus Chapter 997 of Vietnam Veterans.  He was also involved with the American Legion, DAV, and Purple Heart Association.  Mr. Kinard loved hunting, fishing, and other outdoor activities, and sponsored these events with the Palmer Home.  He enjoyed traveling with his wife, Linda, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  In addition to his parents, Curtiss is preceded in death by brothers – Joe "Buddy" Kinard, Jack Kinard, Pete Kinard, and James Kinard.

He is survived by his wife – Linda O'Neal Kinard; daughters – Vikki (Benjy) Bruce and Stacy (Russ) Combs; grandchildren – Cole (Shawntel) Bruce, Larissa (David) Tousley, Chloe Bruce, James (Devyn) Bruce, Lacy (Chris) McCreery, Mary Combs, Nate Combs, and Maggie Combs; great-grandchildren – Haigen Bruce, Kenzley Bruce, Kynnadi McCreery, Bryson Bruce, and Braxton Bruce; brother – Jerry (Sarah) Kinard; Sister – Elizabeth "Sissy" Lynam; a host of nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews.

Honorary pallbearers will be Russ Combs, Benjy Bruce, Cole Bruce, James Bruce, Nate Combs, David Tousley, Chris McCreery, Ethan Monahan, Tommy Richardson, and James Robbins.
