Claudus Vyron Rickman, 84 of Caledonia, MS passed away Sunday, November 15, 2015, at his residence. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 17, 2015, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A funeral service will be Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at 10:00 AM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Steve Webber officiating and Bro. John Brown assisting. Interment will be in Lone Oak Cemetery, Steens, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mr. Rickman was born November 15, 1931, to the late Edgar and Mintie Smith Rickman in Lamar County, AL. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Rickman was a former Elder of Lone Oak Church of Christ having served for over 25 years. He attended Alabama Christian College, Montgomery, Al from 1958- 1960, and completed his undergraduate degree from Mississippi State. He then received his Master's degree from Mississippi State in Guidance Education in 1972. Mr. Rickman retired from the State of Mississippi Employment agency as a counselor. He formerly worked for the FBI in Washington DC. Mr. Rickman owned and operated Rickman Appliance of Steens, MS for over 30 years. He and his late wife Verna Ray Logan Rickman were married for 59 years. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren, fishing, and working around the family home place. In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Rickman was preceded in death by his daughter - Tabitha Kay Rickman; brothers - Ollie Winston Rickman and Rayford Rickman; sisters - Wynell Lavender, Marguerite McReynolds and Clayretha Glasgow. Mr. Rickman is survived by his daughter s- Nedra (Keith) Mitchell, Millport, AL and Rhonda (Mike) Unruh, Caledonia, MS; son - Phillip (Terri) Rickman; sister - Sue Miller, grandchildren - Lydia (Luke) Bolin, Dr. Brannon Rickman, Brad (Micah) Mitchell, Brent (Brandi) Mitchell, Brooke Mitchell, Ryan Unruh, Spencer Unruh and Micah Unruh; great-grandchildren - Landis Mitchell and Heidi Lynn Mitchell. Pallbearers will be Luke Bolin, Keith Mitchell, Mike Unruh, Bradley Mitchell, Brent Mitchell, Brannon Rickman, Ryan Unruh and Spencer Unruh. Honorary pallbearers will be Ralph Logan, Eldon Barham, nieces and nephews, special friend - Shirley Fields, Members of Lone Oak Church of Christ, Dr. Brett Brown and staff.
