Daniel Elias "Dan" Brownlee, 61, of Columbus, MS, passed away Monday, December 5, 2022, at UAB, Birmingham, AL.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 8, 2022, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS.  A Funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 AM, Friday, December 9, 2022, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Columbus, MS with Bro. David Blakney officiating and Lowndes Funeral Home directing.  The interment will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Dan was born on March 4, 1961, in Columbus, MS to Elsie McDaniel Brownlee and the late Henry Brownlee.  He was a handy guy who loved working with his hands, including woodworking and mechanics.  He enjoyed Christian music and photography, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and pets. In addition to his father, Dan is preceded in death by his brother, Clay Brownlee.

He is survived by his wife – Phyllis Brownlee; daughter – Magen (Chris) Page; mother – Elsie McDaniel Brownlee; sister – Gail Brownlee (Rob Sieffert); Mother-in-law - Lera Allbritton; brother-in-law - Brian (Amy) Allbritton; sister-in-law - Melinda Brownlee; niece - Ashley (Chris) Hall; Nephew – Kris Brownlee; great-nieces – Ella Hall and Adaline Hall.

Pallbearers will be Philip McDaniel, Dennis McDaniel, Billy Strickland, Tim Beckett, Chuck Cook and Guy Wilcox.  Honorary pallbearers will be Hershel Abrams, Larry Abrams, RD Rice, Kris Brownlee, Timmy McDaniel, Audrey Featherston, Mike McDaniel, Danny Russell, Scott Kinard
