Daphne Bordelon

Daphne Elaine Bordelon, 66, of Columbus, MS, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Regional One Health in Memphis, TN.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 7, 2026, from 10:00 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. at East End Baptist Church, Columbus, MS. Service will be Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 11:30 A.M. at East End Baptist Church in Columbus, MS, with Bro. Byron Benson officiating. Service will be live-streamed through East End Baptist Church. Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS entrusted with all arrangements.

Mrs. Bordelon was born April 29, 1959, in Columbus, MS, to the late Marie Proctor Beene and Lonnie “LB” Beene. She was a teacher for over 30 years. Mrs. Bordelon was of the Baptist Faith. She held many roles at East End Baptist Church; she was a Sunday School teacher, former Preschool Director, Church Historian, and Official Kitchen Coordinator. Mrs. Daphne's legacy lives on in the countless children whose lives she shaped through her faith. She had a special gift for making each child feel seen, valued, and deeply loved. By teaching them about Jesus and modeling a life of service, she showed them what it means to lead with compassion, humility, and a servant’s heart. The lessons she shared will echo far beyond her lifetime. She was the Vice President of Lowndes County Master Gardeners, Director of Junior Master Gardeners, MS Emmaus Secretary, Second Vice President, and Chairman of the Education Excellence Committee of Delta Kappa Gamma Society, International. She was a Pampered Chef Director for 29 years, and she volunteered at Life Choices Pregnancy Center. Mrs. Bordelon loved cooking for family and friends, gardening, sewing, traveling the U.S. with her close friend Rhonda Rockholt, visiting with her lifelong MUW friends annually, and taking yearly trips to the Caribbean with her husband. Above all, she loved being “Mimi” to all of her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bordelon is preceded in death by her two grandchildren, Jon Gabriel Bordelon, Jr., and Devan Perkins

Mrs. Bordelon is survived by her husband, Albert Bordelon, daughter, Ashley (Shawn) Shaw, sons- Gabriel (Amy) Bordelon and Wesley (Jessica) Bordelon; grandchildren- James Hawk, Jordan Hawk, Ryan Hawk, Chris (Betty) Bordelon, Ava Bordelon, Charlotte Bordelon, Karli Perkins, Madison Shaw, Lily Fielder, Henry Fielder, and Amelia Fielder; great grandchildren- Jared, Sophia, and Carter Bordelon; sister, Marsha (Randy) Rhoades and brother- Carl (Amy) Beene.
