Darlene Marie Sell Gibson, 67, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 3, 2017 in Kennesaw, GA.  She passed peacefully at her daughter's home in the arms of her loving husband.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 11, 2017 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A funeral service will follow at 4:00 PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Roger Lands and Bro. Junior Eads officiating.

She was born on July 7, 1949 in Toledo, OH to Cecil and Yvonne (Rotruck) Sell. Darlene grew up in Toledo, OH attending Washington Schools until the age of 13.  She moved to Monroe, MI in 1962.  She graduated from Monroe High School in 1967.  Trained as a Nurse Aide, she was most recently employed at Pickens Family Practice Center in Gordo, AL, where she retired in September, 2013. Darlene married Jimmie Gibson on October 11, 1969 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Monroe, MI.  They were happily married for 47 years.  Darlene was a member of Eastview Church in Columbus, MS.  She enjoyed reading, playing Facebook games, taking pictures of everyone and every event, but most importantly spending time with family and friends. Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Yvonne (Rotruck) Sell, and a grandson, Brandon Gibson.

Darlene is survived by her spouse, Jimmie of Ethelsville, AL; daughters - Katrine (Lee) Frazier of Kennesaw, GA and Kasandra Gibson of Bryan, OH; son - Jeremy (Brenda) Gibson of Columbus, MS;  sisters - Diane (Larry) Bezeau of Monroe, MI and Donna Knoble of Lisle, IL; brother - David (Pat) Sell of Flat Rock, MI; grandchildren - Dean Frazier, Shirley (Enrico) Pinder, Jimmie MacIsaac Jr, Nacole Frazier, Trevor Gibson, Katie MacIsaac, and Chelsea Gibson; and great grandchildren - Nevaeh Baitey and Mason Pinder.
