David Almon Cook, 66, of Columbus, MS passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at North Mississippi Medical Center, Tupelo, MS.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 20, 2016, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Columbus, MS. A Memorial Service will follow at 3:00 PM at St. Paul's Episcopal with Rev. Anne Harris officiating.
Mr. Cook was born July 5, 1949 to the late Earl B. and Elise Turley Cook in Starkville, MS. He married the former Tracy Staples April 8, 1978 in Gulfport, MS. Mr. Cook retired after 25 years of employment with Weyerhaeuser Co. He served in the United Army, and he received a B.S. degree in Business. Mr. Cook was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Columbus, MS. He was an avid MSU baseball fan, where he enjoyed many games in the left field lounge.
Mr. Cook is survived by his wife of 38 years-Tracy Staples Cook, Columbus, MS; brother-Jimmy (Suzanne) Cook, Starkville, MS; sister-Mary Elise Gonzales, Baltimore, MD; nephews-Kevin Cook, Southaven, MS and Jonathan Gonzales, Baltimore, MD; and niece-Elise Gonzales, Seattle, WA.
