Obituary

David Ellis Gore passed away at his home on June 8th, 2025, at the age of 55. Born in Reform, Alabama, David spent most of his life in Jackson and Columbus, Mississippi, where he was known for his big heart, quick wit, and unwavering kindness.

He worked for many years in plumbing sales, building strong relationships through his honesty, humor, and dedication. David never met a stranger—he had a natural ability to make anyone feel like an old friend, whether you'd known him for five minutes or five years.

David had an incredible knack for storytelling, the kind that could light up a room and leave people laughing for days. He had a green thumb and took pride in his plants and gardens, often sitting outside watching hummingbirds flutter by with joy. He loved chocolate chip cookies, almost as much as he loved his rescue dogs, Bella and Gwen, who brought him deep comfort and companionship over the years.

A lifelong Alabama Crimson Tide fan, David's love for college football ran deep—win or lose, he cheered for the Tide with unmatched loyalty and pride.

He is survived by his sons, Jon (Kayla) Gore and Todd (Marissa) Gore of Riverton, Utah, and his sister, Donna (Russell) Street of Columbus, Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Ellis Gore and Patricia Gore Burkhalter.

David's life was rich in love, laughter, and connection. He was a proud dad, a loyal brother, and a true friend to many. His memory lives on in the stories he told, the kindness he showed, and the joy he found in life's simple moments.

In lieu of a formal service at this time, those wishing to honor David are encouraged to share a favorite memory or picture, check in on someone they love, volunteer at their local animal shelter, or enjoy a warm chocolate cookie in his honor—maybe while watching a hummingbird or cheering on the Crimson Tide.
