David Wayne Kennedy, 47, of Steens, MS passed away Monday, July 3, 2017, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Golden Triangle, Columbus, MS.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 7, 2017, from 1:00 – 2:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A funeral service will follow Friday, July 7, 2017, at 2:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kevin Cuevas officiating. Interment will be at Friendship Cemetery, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Kennedy was born April 13, 1970, in Columbus, MS to Donald Kennedy and the late Betty Waltman Kennedy. He was a supervisor for 6 years at Baldor Electric. Mr. Kennedy was enlisted in the Army National Guard out of Louisville, MS. He was an NCO Staff Sargent in the F Company 106 BFB. Mr. Kennedy was a loving husband to his wife Allison Kennedy, and loving father and grandfather. In addition to his mother, Mr. Kennedy was preceded in death by his brother Donnie Kennedy.

Mr. Kennedy is survived by his wife- Allison Knight Kennedy of Steens, MS; daughter- Whitney (Byron) Cuevas of Pass Christian, MS; son- David Wayne Kennedy, Jr. of Starkville, MS; grandchildren- Jayce Cuevas, Grantley Cuevas, Waylon Kennedy, Kayson Kennedy, Elizabeth Lamar, Vannah Cuevas; step-children- Kyle Lamar of Columbus, MS, and Cameron Lamar of Ft. Irwin, CA; father- Donald Kennedy; sisters- Lynn Langford, and Becky (Danny) Mitchell; brother- Rodney Kennedy.

Pallbearers will be Rodney Kennedy, Byron Cuevas, David Kennedy, Jr., Kyle Lamar, Cameron Lamar, and Philip Herrin. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Eubanks, Dr. McClanahan, ICU Nurses, and Staff.
