David DeWayne McCool, age 62, of Columbus, MS, passed away February 1, 2025 at Generations of Vernon in Vernon, Alabama.

The visitation will be Tuesday, February 4, 2025 from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Lowndes Funeral Home in Columbus, MS.  The funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Bro. Kenny Gardner officiating.  Burial will follow at Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Detroit, Alabama.

Mr. McCool was born February 26, 1962 in Columbus, MS to the late James and Faye Adams McCool.  He enjoyed watching Mississippi State football and NASCAR racing, especially Dale Earnhart.  Mr. McCool also loved hunting, fishing and dancing.

In addition to his parents, Mr. McCool is preceded in death by his brothers – James E. McCool and Danny McCool.  He is survived by his sisters – Debbie Blanton (Gary Richardson) and Kim (Joel) Wright; nieces – Rita (Jeremy) Robertson, Angie (Brad) Fortner, and Lakelyn McCool; nephew – Cale Wright; great nephews – Austin (Brooke) Fortner and Chandler Robertson; great niece – Lindsey Fortner; and great-great nephew – Charlie Fortner.

Pallbearers will be Cale Wright, Chandler Robertson, Brad Fortner, Austin Fortner, Mike McCool, George Corbell.  Honorary Pallbearers are the staff at Generations of Vernon and the staff at Northwest Hospice.
