David Ora Mishler, 68 of Columbus, MS passed away Friday, September 4, 2015 at Aurora Healthcare, Columbus, MS. Visitation will be Sunday, September 06, 2015 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A funeral service will be Monday, September 7, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Steve Blaylock officiating and Chief Martin Andrews assisting. Interment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Columbus, MS. Mr. Mishler was born January 12, 1947 to the late Robert Jack Mishler and Margaret Ulbricht Mishler in South Bend, IN and moved to Columbus in 1957. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Vietnam Era. Mr. Mishler was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Columbus, MS and a life member of the American Legion Post 69, Columbus, MS. He retired in 1993 after 23 years of service to the City of Columbus Fire Department and received Fire Fighter of the Year Award in 1992. Mr. Mishler enjoyed fishing, watching football , especially Alabama, spending time and playing with his grandchildren. He was a devoted father who was loved by all he came in contact with. In addition to his parents, Mr. Mishler was preceded in death by his brother Ronald Jack Mishler. Mr. Mishler is survived by his wife of 36 years - Sandra Mishler, Columbus, MS; daughter - Tiffany Mishler Davis, Columbus, MS; sisters - Kathy (Dick) Rollins, Columbus, MS and Karen (Richard) Cole, Columbus, MS; grandchildren - Brandon David Perrigin and Caitlyn Margaret Perrigin and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be the Columbus Fire Department Honor Guard. Honorary pallbearers will be the Staff of Aurora Healthcare, Christy Yearby, Current and Former Firefighters of Columbus Fire Department and Jim Savage.
