Dr. David Saum, 74, of Columbus, MS passed away Thursday, April 7, 2022, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Golden Triangle, Columbus, MS.

Visitation will be Sunday, April 10, 2022, from 1:00 until 3:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS.  Funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend James Black officiating.  Interment will be at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing

Dr. Saum was born March 2, 1948, in Piqua, OH to the late Joe Saum, Jr. and Joann Griffin Saum.  He served 6 years in the Ohio National Guard.  Dr. Saum was the owner/operator of Saum Chiropractic Clinic Pllc, in Columbus MS for 39 years, with a total of 49 years in the field of chiropractic care.  He enjoyed playing dulcimers and founded the Columbus Dulcimer Club.  Dr. Saum also enjoyed racing go-karts and sprint cars, as well as wood carving.

Dr. Saum is survived by his wife – Inez Pendleton Saum, Columbus, MS; Daughter – Heather (Davey) Ware, Roswell, GA; Son – Keith (Cheryl) Saum, Ramer, TN;  grandchildren – Connor Saum, Grant (Clare) Saum, Parker Saum, Cooper Ware, Hadley Ware; sisters – Diana Saum and Pam (Philip) Elders; brother – Bill (Gail) Saum.

Pallbearers will be Connor Saum, Grant Saum, Parker Saum, Cooper Ware, Bo Holman, Daniel Green, and Russell Sheffield.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Doug Hill, Dr. John Whitecar, Dr. Hilda Bonetti, Dr. Navid Dara, Dr. Matthew Webb, Bobbie Sue Pearson and Rusty House.
