David Earl Shields, 65, passed away Monday, October 16, 2023, in Macon, GA.

Visitation will be Sunday, October 22, 2023, from 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS.  The graveside service with military honors will follow at 2:00 PM at Friendship Cemetery. Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS is directing.

Mr. Shields was born on March 7, 1958, in Memphis, TN to the late Fred Warren and Betty Joyce Shields.  He retired in 2000 after working 21 years as an aircraft electrician for Boeing.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother – Jimmy Warren Shields; and a sister – Vicki Diane Shields.

Mr. Shields is survived by his sons – John David (Stephanie) Shields, Richard Jason (Valerie) Strom, and Daniel Shields; 10 grandchildren – Kirstyn Arianna, Kaelyn Victoria, Karleigh Marie, John Nolan, Ashley Marga-Rebecca, Angel Louis, Sara Joann, Paisley Brianne, Makayla Elizabeth Joyce, and Daniel Joseph; 3 great-grandchildren – Elijah, Atlas, and Azure; and brother – Richard Alan Shields.
