Debra Ann Higdon, 65, of Ethelsville, AL, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at her home, with her husband by her side.

Visitation is scheduled for Monday, January 16, 2023, at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS from 2:00-3:00 PM.  A memorial service will follow at 3:00 PM.

Mrs. Higdon was born on May 15, 1957, to the late Betty Jean Younger, in Tampa, FL.  She enjoyed riding motorcycles and helping with fundraisers.  Her love of papillons led her to be the administrator of several Facebook pages dedicated to papillon puppies, including Papillon Puppy Fanciers, Papillon Lovers, and Papillon Puppies.  She also enjoyed the art of macramé, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Higdon is preceded in death by her son-in-law, Chris Roberts.

Mrs. Debra Higdon is survived by her husband Shan Higdon; daughter – Amanda Roberts; sons – Kurt (Dan Wild) Wirth and John (Megan) Wilcox; step-daughter – Shana (Chris) Maxey; grandchildren – Ashton (Richard) Guyer, Kelsey Boone, John Thomas Roberts, Anna Wilcox, Alice Wilcox, Shaelee Maxey, Brylee Maxey, and Ryker Maxey; and great-grandchild Pearl Louise Guyer.

Honorary pallbearers will be Deborah Turman, Christy Massey, Brenda Sudduth, and Gwen Earwood.
