Dellie Ray Cantrell, 85 of Columbus, MS passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Golden Triangle, Columbus, MS.
Visitation will be Monday, October 9, 2023, from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel. The interment will be in Hollis Cemetery, Crews, AL.
Mrs. Cantrell was born September 24, 1938, in Sulligent, AL to the late Cecil McCraw and Annie Lee Smith McCraw. She worked in the fabric department at Walmart and volunteered as a Pink Lady at Baptist ICU. Mrs. Cantrell was part of a group that went to each other's homes for Bible studies. She enjoyed crocheting and taking care of flowers. Mrs. Cantrell liked to watch the hummingbirds at her feeders but most of all she loved seeing her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Cantrell was preceded in death by her husband – Junior Cantrell; sons – Mike Cantrell, Mark Cantrell, and Clyde
Cantrell; daughter – Marilyn Cantrell; great-grandchild – Harley Cantrell; sisters – Lucille McDaniel and Lillie Mae Trimm; and brother – David McCraw.
Mrs. Cantrell is survived by her daughters – Tootie (Lonny) Nickoles and Tanya Vickers; son – Gene Cantrell; 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren; sister – Dorothy Ledsworth and brother – Roland McCraw.
Pallbearers will be Mrs. Cantrell's grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be Roland McCraw, Charlie Cantrell, and Pete Cantrell.
