Delta K. Cumberland, 86 of Columbus, MS passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – GT, Columbus, MS. Visitation will be Friday, April 5, 2013 from 12 -2 pm at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral services will follow at 2 pm at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS with Bro. James Gardner officiating and Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Cumberland was born October 30, 1926 in Hodges, Alabama to the late John and Louella Crews Kennedy. She moved to Columbus 45 years ago from Haleyville, AL. Mrs. Cumberland was a member of Calvary Assembly of God, Columbus, MS and the AARP. She enjoyed playing tennis in her younger days. Mrs. Cumberland loved to sing, work in her yard and garden, especially her flowers. Mrs. Cumberland is survived by her husband- James E. Cumberland, Columbus, MS, son- Dwight (Anita) Cumberland, Caledonia, MS, daughter- Martha Sharp, Philadelphia, MS and grandchildren- Jonathan (Lyndsay) Cumberland, Whitney Sharp and Daniel Sharp.
