Dempsey Floyd Faulkner, 69 of Columbus, MS passed away Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Baptist Memorial Hospital - Golden Triangle, Columbus, MS. Visitation for Mr. Faulkner will be Tuesday, October 15, 2013 from 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A funeral service will follow at 10:30 AM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ron Thomas officiating and Bro. Albert Wilkerson assisting. Interment will be in Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Detroit, AL with Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mr. Faulkner was born June 22, 1944 to the late Floyd & Elvis Roberts Faulkner in Amory, MS. He retired from the U.S. Army in 2000 after 20 plus years of service and as a salesman with Premier Ford after 12 years of service. Mr. Faulkner was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Columbus, MS the Man Cave Club and a former member of the Columbus Chittlin Club and the New Hope Service Club. He enjoyed cooking, fishing and traveling. Survivors include his wife - Shirley Faulkner, Columbus, MS; son - Michael (Kelly) Soule, Columbus, MS; daughter - Crystal (Chris) Childress, Columbus, MS; sister - Sandra Boone, Columbus, MS; brother - Rodney Faulkner, Gulfport, MS; Grandchildren - Katy Soule, George Childress, Drew Childress and Angus Soule.
