Dennis Ray Blake, 76, of Columbus, MS passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – GT Columbus, MS.

Visitation will be Friday, April 28, 2017 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 29, 2017, at 11:00 AM at Lowndes Funeral Home Capel with Mr. Billy Ferguson officiating and Mr. Don Cole assisting. Interment will be in Lone Oak Cemetery, Steens, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Blake was born October 22, 1940, to the late Cecil Lee Blake and Hazel Tarver Wharton. He was a member of Columbus Church of Christ, Columbus, MS. Mr. Blake retired in 2016 from Electric Motors Sales & Service as an Industrial Electrician with 43 years of service. He was a loving husband to his wife Rebecca Fleming Blake and he enjoyed woodworking, running, walking, and many home projects.

Mr. Blake is survived by his wife – Rebecca Fleming Blake; daughter – Theresa (Glenn) Bush of Brandon, MS; son – Richard (Rene) Blake of Austin, TX; grandchildren – Robert Blake, Justin Bush, Ryan Blake and Reid Blake.

Pallbearers will be Robert Blake, Justin Bush, Ryan Blake, Reid Blake, Dan Harris and Bonnie Reaves. Honorary pallbearers will be Employees of Electric Motors Sales & Service.
