Dixie Gay Nickoles, 85 of Columbus, MS passed away Monday, February 27, 2017, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Golden Triangle, Columbus, MS.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 2, 2017, from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS.  A graveside service will follow at 12:00 PM at Egger Cemetery, Caledonia, MS with Dr. Roger McGrew officiating and Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Ms. Nickoles was born October 8,m 1931 to the late Rube and Sarah Etler White in Monroe County, Mississippi.  She was a seamstress and of the Baptist faith.  In addition to her parents, Ms. Nickoles was preceded in death by her son – Russell Jordan; daughter – Frances Bush; 5 sisters and 3 brothers.

Ms. Nickoles is survived by her son – Bo (Jane) Jordan, Columbus, MS; daughters – Betty (Frank) James, Mobile, AL, Elizabeth (Wayne) Young, Caledonia, MS, Nancy (Terry) Thompson, Hamilton, MS and Hazel Kesler, Greenwood Springs, MS; brothers – Earl West and Marlin West of Hamilton, MS; 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren,  3 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be members of the family.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
