Dixie Estelle Winter, 72 of Caledonia, MS passed away Monday, May 20, 2013 at her residence. Visitation will be Saturday, May 25, 2013 from 5-8 pm at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral services will be Sunday, May 26, 2013 at 1 pm at Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Randy Holmes officiating and Bro. Mike Dalton assisting. Interment will follow at Furnace Hill Cemetery in Vernon, AL with Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Winter was born July 25, 1940 in Oklahoma to the late Richard Washington and Lydia Meranda Cagle. She loved collecting antiques and was a retired Antique Dealer. Mrs. Winter loved gardening and had a green thumb. She was a hard worker and enjoyed helping others, she was like a second mother to many with a giving and loving spirit. Mrs. Winter loved her late husband of 47 years, Mr. Otis Leon Winter, her children and grandchildren, especially her grandson Ozdon. Pallbearers will be Frank Atkinson, Roger Jinks, Dakota Chamu, Chris Roach, Jay Ferguson and Cody Grim. Honorary pallbearer will be Ozdon Leon Winter.
