Don Leonard Don Gaylon Leonard, 75 of Caledonia, MS passed away Sunday, August 3, 2014 at his residence. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 5, 2014 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at New Salem Baptist Church, Caledonia, MS. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at 11:00 AM at New Salem Baptist Church with Bro. Sammy Crawford officiating and Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing. Mr. Leonard was born March 18, 1939 in Cedar County, MO to the late Willie Ezra and Naomi Hopkins Leonard. He was a U. S. Navy veteran of twenty-three years. Mr. Leonard loved his family, the church and teaching Sunday School and was a member of New Salem Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers- Brian and Kent Leonard. Mr. Leonard is survived by his wife of 52 years-Lena Lanford Leonard, Caledonia, MS; his sons-Steve Leonard, Caledonia, MS, William (Teresa) Leonard, Etowah, TN and Donavan(Devi) Leonard, Dothan, AL; daughter-Karen Smuz, Caledonia, MS; grandchildren-John Samuel Leonard, James Aaron Leonard, Abigail Olivia Leonard, Contessa Devereaux, Kevin Leonard, Kyle Leonard, David Anthony Smuz, Christina Kate Smuz and Kailyn Shane Turner and a sister- Donita Trent.
