Obituary

Donald Wade Hitchcock, 69, of Steens, MS passed away Friday, September 2, 2022, at his residence.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 8, 2022, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS.

Mr. Hitchcock was born February 2, 1953, in Spokane, WA to the late Henry Allen and Muriel Buchanan Hitchcock.  He had worked at Gary's Pawn and Gun for many years and Bugs B Gone for several years.  He loved his family and was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and brother.  He loved spending time outdoors, especially fishing and hunting.

Mr. Hitchcock is survived by his wife – Donna Hitchcock; children – Heather Hitchcock (Josef) Hall, Presley (Heather) Hitchcock, Travis (Lauren) Hitchcock, Brent (Rachel) Hitchcock, and Anna Hitchcock (Jordan) Guihan; 16 grandchildren – Emmaline Hall, Isabella Hall, Genevieve Hall, Julian Atkinson, Kaden Hitchcock, Grayson Hitchcock, Landon Hitchcock, Christian Hitchcock, Henleigh Hitchcock, Lillian Hitchcock, Ledger Hitchcock, Luke Hitchcock, Beckett Hitchcock, Cooper Guihan, Lainey Guihan, and Hunter Guihan; and sister – Patricia (Keith) McCoy.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
