Donnie Dwain Garrard, age 66, of Columbus, MS passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle, Columbus, MS.

A memorial service to celebrate Donnie's life will be held on Friday, March 16, 2018, at 3:00 PM at First Assembly of God, Columbus, MS with Rev. Derek Youngblood officiating.

Mr. Garrard was born on December 6, 1951, in Mississippi to Helen Virginia Adams Garrard and the late Homer Lee Garrard. He was a member of Assembly of God for many years. Mr. Garrard worked as a truck driver for Vernon Milling Trucking, Vernon, AL for the last 25 years. He also worked at Baptist Memorial Hospital as an EMT, and he worked at Auxiliary Police Department for several years. Mr. Garrard enjoyed going fishing as often as he could. He enjoyed driving and loved riding his motorcycles. Mr. Garrard will be truly missed by his friends and family. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother- Joe Garrard.

Mr. Garrard is survived by his mother- Helen Virginia Garrard; sons- Robbie (Jennifer) Garrard, and Chris (Lara) Garrard both of Chelsea, AL; grandchildren- Sophie Garrard, Phoebe Garrard, Travis Garrard, and Ruby Garrard; sister- Kim Hitchcock of Columbus, MS; and brothers- Jerry Garrard and Toby Garrard both of Columbus, MS.
