Doris Caddell Attaway Doris Caddell Attaway, 83 passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at Trinity Personal Care, Columbus, MS. Visitation for Mrs. Attaway will be Saturday, February 18, 2012, from 1 – 2 PM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Warrior, AL. A Funeral Service will follow at 2 PM with Rev. Sam Reid officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Warrior, AL with Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mrs.Attaway was born December 10, 1928 to the late Oda & Martha Roberts Caddell in Walker County, AL. She married H. Dale Attaway, Sr in 1946 and raised 7 children while moving around the country as an Air Force wife. After her husband retired, Mrs. Attaway worked as a sitter for several years in the Birmingham area. She moved to Columbus 44 years ago from Warrior, AL, attended the Baptist Church, was a wonderful cook and loved to garden. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Attaway was preceded in death by her husband, H. Dale Attaway, Sr., Sisters – Olene Thomason, Sue Kolarchick, Brothers – Billy Caddell, Jessie Caddell and James Caddell. Mrs. Attaway is survived by her daughters – Ruth A. (Sherman) Meadows, Columbus, MS, Rebeka A (Ron) Moore, St. Petersburg, FL, Sandra A. (Mike) Hyde, Warrior, AL, Sons – H. Dale (Doris Ann) Attaway, Jr., Demopolis, AL, Wayne (Debra) Attaway, Moody, AL, Dwight Attaway, Prattville, AL and Roger Attaway, Alabama, Sisters – Ann Garrett, Georgia, Mary Hargreaves, California, Brother – David Caddell, Michigan , 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be grandsons and son-in-laws. Honorary Pallbearers will be friends and staff of Trinity Healthcare and Dr. James Woodard.
