Doris A. Elmore, 82, of Columbus, MS passed away Saturday, November 13, 2021.
Memorial Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at 10:00 AM at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Columbus. Lowndes Funeral Home and Crematory is honored to be entrusted with final arrangements.
Mrs. Elmore was born on May 6, 1939, in Lowndes County to the late Minnie Lee Allen and Ezra Houston Allen. She enjoyed camping, was a snowbird and camped in Miami, FL for 29 years. Mrs. Elmore was an avid Ole Miss football and baseball fan who loved to go shopping and loved spending time with family especially grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She worked at the CAFB Credit Union for 15 years and was a member of Seventh Street Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Elmore is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Henry L. Elmore, and her brothers, Billy Allen, and Douglas Allen.
Mrs. Elmore is survived by her children- Steve Elmore of Tupelo, MS, and Sherry Weseli of Columbus, MS; grandchildren, Jake (Jessica) Weseli, Brooke (Andrew) Gordon, Brody (Rachel) Weseli, Stephenie (Barrett) Brady, and Alison Mitchell; great-grandchildren, Posey Brady, J.B. Brady, Cal Mitchell, Wes Gordon, Hayden Weseli, Henry Weseli, and Baker Weseli; nieces, Vicki Greenhaw and Wendi Franks; and nephew, Tony Allen.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Johnson, Sr.; Joe Mims; John Renfroe; Robert Doughty; Baptist Hospice; Staff of Garden Hill Assisted Living; Members of Seventh Street Church of Christ; Matt Harris, N.P of Aberdeen, MS
The family asks that Memorial Donations be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
