Doris Louise Martin Holtman 87, of Lowndes County, Mississippi, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Trinity Health Care in Columbus, MS.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral Service will be Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS with Rev. Lonnie Cook officiating. Interment will follow at Egger Cemetery in Caledonia, MS. Lowndes Funeral Home will be directing.

Mrs. Holtman was born October 1, 1937, in Caledonia, Mississippi to the late Inez McCollum Martin and Charlie Martin. She was the youngest of six kids and the last one to leave this earth. Mrs. Holtman graduated from Caledonia High School in 1955 and Mississippi State College for Women (now MUW) in 1960. Doris married Gary Holtman in 1960, and they were married for 64 years until his death in September. She worked as a civilian at Columbus Air Force Base for 30 years and retired in 1996 as a GS-12 in Civil Engineering. It was a great joy for her to lead church music for many years, in the last many years at Caledonia Methodist Church. Mrs. Holtman is preceded in death by her husband, Gary Holtman, parents Inez McCollum Martin, and Charlie Martin; brothers- Charlie Martin, Jr and Jack Martin, sisters- Sarah Martin Pennington, Turah Mae Martin Murphy, and Edith Martin Markham.

Mrs. Holtman is survived by her daughter- Missy Holtman; son- Marty Holtman, and wife Diane; grandchildren- Joseph Lambert, and wife Anya; Rachel Lambert Queen, and husband- Jason, Emily Holtman Sprouse and husband- Nathan; Jacob Holtman, and great-grandchildren- Kennedy Queen and Magnolia Sprouse.
Pallbearers will be; Joseph Lambert, Jacob Holtman, Jason Queen, Nathan Sprouse, Steve Pennington, Charles Pennington, Keith Pennington, and Bruce Markham.
