Doris Hughes Sisson, 80 of Columbus, MS passed away Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Select Specialty Hospital, Jackson, MS. Visitation will be Saturday, January 31, 2015 from 1:00 - 2:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Clark Richardson officiating. Interment will be in Beersheba Cemetery, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Sisson was born October 17, 1934 to the late Charles G. and Ila Clarice Westbrooks Hughes in Lowndes County, MS. She retired from Century Transportation in 1988 where she was a secretary. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sisson was preceded in death by her ex-husband - James A. Sisson, son - Kevin Alford Sisson and sister - Marilyn Naomi Hughes Seabrooks. Mrs. Sisson is survived by her children - James Norman (Pattie) Sisson, Madison, MS, Hugh Alan (Yreka) Sisson, Olathe, KS, and Dena Louise Sisson Smith, Louisana, daughter in law - Monica Sisson, Columbus, MS ; brothers - Charles Lowell (Dorothy) Hughes, Columbus, MS, Howard Everett (Virginia) Hughes, Columbus, MS and Kenneth Howard Hughes, Clinton, MS, 7 grandchildren - Jaime Sisson (Chris) McNeece, Liza Sisson, Eva Grace Sisson, Henry Sisson, Hannah Smith (Josh) Seau, Justin Smith and Jacob Smith; great-granddaughter - Sophie Seau.
