Doris Fields Swift Doris Fields Swift, 84 of Columbus, MS passed away Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – GT, Columbus, MS. Visitation was held Monday, September 19, 2011 from 6 – 8 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral Services were held Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at 2 PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Charles Whitney officiating. Interment was in Memorial Gardens, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing. Mrs. Swift was born October 5, 1926 in Millport, AL to the late John Ellis and Alma Harden Fields. She was a resident of Columbus, MS for more than sixty years having moved from Millport, AL. She was a housewife and a charter member of Grace Baptist Church, Columbus, MS. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband - Thomas Raymond Swift, three sisters, three brothers, five sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law. Mrs. Swift is survived by her daughters - Brenda Swift (Randall) Wiggins, Rocky Mount, NC; Paula Swift (Kenny) Kidder, Columbus, MS; Allison Swift (Brooks) Ferguson, Columbus, MS; son – Tony (Nancy) Swift, Alabaster, AL; sister – Annie Kate Cash, Millport, AL; sister-in-law – Lois Giles, Baton Rouge, LA; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Pallbearers are Blake Wiggins, Chase Swift, Brad Kidder, Jason Price, Bo Ferguson and Ben Curtis. Honorary pallbearers are Chad Posey and Kerry Mitchell.
