Dorothy Eugenia Kemp, 86, of Columbus, MS passed away on October 7, 2023 at Trinity Health Care, Columbus, MS.

Ms. Kemp was born October 31, 1936, in Lewisburg, MS to the late John J. and Maggie Sneed Johnson.  She received her nursing degree from Rio Hondo College.  She retired from nursing after working over 20 years at Mercy Hospital.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters – Jessie Boutin and Jackie Harwell.  She is survived by her children – Katherine Velez and Sean Kemp; grandchildren – Shelby Kemp, D.J. Velez, Rachal Velez, Sydney Smith, and Spencer Kemp; and great grandchildren – Korbin Smith, Kolby Smith, David Velez III, Henry Velez, and Ethan Velez.
