Dorothy Elizabeth Taylor Lindsey, 83 of Columbus, MS passed away Monday, December 27, 2010 at Aurora Australis Lodge, Columbus, MS.

Visitation was held Wednesday, December 29, 2010 from 11:00 AM ? 1:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Graveside services were held Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at 2PM at Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Lamar County, AL with Bro. James Gardner officiating; Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing.

Mrs. Lindsey was born February 21, 1927 in Lafayette, MS to the late Henry and Amanda Carroll Thomas. She was a resident of Columbus, MS for the past 26 years having moved from Notsougly, AL. Mrs. Lindsey was a homemaker, loved playing bingo, crossword puzzles, fishing, sewing and cooking.

She was of the Church of God faith. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Grady Taylor; daughter, Shirley Wheeler and son, Buddy Taylor.

Mrs. Lindsey is survived by her daughters, Shelby Taylor (Tim) Flye, Steens, MS; Elvie Taylor (Hughdolph) Guin, Columbus, MS; sisters, Amy Thomas, East Bernard, TX; P. J. Thomas, Audrey Thomas, Brenda Johnson, Peggy McCarrdle; brother, Doug Thomas, 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were her grandsons. Honorary pallbearers were Timmy Flye and Hughdolph Guin.
