Dottie Lue Taylor Lawson, 74 of Columbus, MS passed away Sunday, November 30, 2014 at Trinity Health Care, Columbus, MS. Visitation will be Thursday, December 4, 2014 from 11 AM til 1 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral services will follow in the Chapel at 1 PM with Bro. Jimmy Banks officiating. Interment will be at Living Faith Tabernacle Cemetery, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Lawson was born July 24, 1940 in Queen Shoals, West Virginia to the late Charles and Kerma Bea Stanley Taylor. She moved to Lowndes County 40 years ago from Michigan City, IN. Mrs. Lawson was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church, Columbus, MS and a former member of First Christian Church for many years. She worked at United Technologies for 22 years and then she worked at Auto Zone. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by brothers- David and Jeff Taylor. Mrs. Lawson is survived by her husband- Bill Lawson, Columbus, MS; daughters- Cathy (Bill) Eiland, Marboro, MD, Betsy (Wayne) McBride, Columbus, MS and Barbara ( Tim) Mooney, Caledonia, MS; step-son-William (Dawn) Brown, Michigan City, IN; sister-Katie Shepherd; brothers- Chuck Taylor, and Tim Taylor; grandchildren-Kristipher Padden, Candise Padden, Trey McBride, Bethany McBride, Coen Mooney and Kenzie Mooney and one great grandchild- Finnley Padden. Pallbearers will be Tim Mooney, Wayne McBride, Bill Eiland, Trey McBride, Bill Hall and Butch Howard. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 1380 Livingston Lane, Jackson, MS 39213.
