He was kiddingly known by nicknames, including Matt Dillon and Rhinestone Cowboy. Dudley had two marriages, the first to Susan Owings, now Johnson, who is the mother of his children, and the second to Pamela Warnken, who coordinated his caregivers until his death. His children are Sara Clark (Charles), Banks Waldrop, and Reed Waldrop (Locke) and a granddaughter, Winnie Waldrop. He is also survived by his brother, D.D. Waldrop Jr. but his other brother, Dr. Rodney Waldrop, predeceased Dudley. Private services will be at a later date. Please visit www.lowndesfuneralhome.net to leave remembrances.
