Dwight "Bud" Atkins Jr., 75, of Aliceville, AL passed away Friday, November 29, 2019, at Aliceville Manor Nursing Home, Aliceville, AL.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 3, 2019 from 12:00-2:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home Columbus, MS. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mathew Fancher officiating. Interment will be in Springhill Baptist Cemetery in Millport, AL with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Atkins was born March 7, 1944, in Millport, AL to the late Maudine Odom and Dwight Atkins Sr. He loved watching the University of Alabama sports especially football. Mr. Atkins enjoyed pulling is nieces and nephews in the wagon around the yard. In addition to his parents, Mr. Atkins is preceded in death by sisters- Winna L Whitten, and Sarah Atkins; sister-in-law Nelda Atkins; and brother-in-law- Mike Cash.

Mr. Atkins is survived by legal guardian-Byron Whitten of Millport, AL; sister- Nancy Holman of Columbus, MS; brothers- Charles Atkins of Columbus, MS, Luther (Lorriane) Atkins of Columbus, MS, and John Atkins of Millport, AL; a host of nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Pallbearers will be Terry Atkins, Toby Atkins, Danny Cash, Drew Cash, Shan Higdon, and Byron Whitten. Honorary pallbearers will be Springhill Community, Staff and residents of Aliceville Manor Nursing Home.
