Robert Earl Jackson, 86, of Columbus, MS passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Baptist Memorial Hospital - GT. Visitation will be held Friday, January 2, 2015 from 1:00-2:00PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A funeral service will follow at 2:00PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Larry Montgomery officiating. Interment will be in Egger Cemetery, Caledonia, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mr. Jackson was born August 31, 1928 in Roxie, MS to the late Robert Jessie and Kathleen King Jackson. He was an avid gardener and loved woodworking. Mr. Jackson attended Steens Church of Christ in Steens, MS. He loved walking and talking to his neighbors. In addition to his parents, Mr. Jackson is preceded in death by his son - William Jackson, sister - Nellie Strickland, and brothers - Donald Jackson and Paul Jackson. Mr. Jackson is survived by his wife - Edna Faye Cole Jackson, Columbus, MS; daughters - Nancy (Terry) Brownlee, Columbus, MS and Linda (Donald) White, Starkville, MS; 5 grandchildren; and brother - Roy (Sarah) Jackson.
