Earl Allen Young, 71 of Columbus, MS passed away Friday, April 26, 2013 at his residence. A Memorial service for Mr. Young will be Monday, April 29, 2013 at 1:00 pm in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Robert Gillis officiating. Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mr. Young was born November 18, 1941 to the late Archie Young and Edna Furgeson in Detroit, AL. Mr. Young moved to Columbus 23 years ago from Gila Bend, AZ. He was a member of State Line Baptist Church, Columbus, MS. Mr. Young retired in 2002 after 47 years of truck driving for Butler Trucking in Vernon, AL. In addition to his parents, Mr. Young was preceded in death by brothers – Grafton Young and Carl Young and sister – Nell Schultz.
