Eddie Earl Romans, 78, passed away of Wednesday, August 28, 2019, at his residence.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2019, from 1-2pm at Lowndes Funeral Home. A Funeral service with full military honors will immediately follow at 2:00pm in the Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mel Howton officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Columbus. Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Romans was born July 5, 1941, in Guntersville, AL, to the late O.L. and Gladys Romans. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, where he served during Vietnam. He retired from the Air Force as a Fuels Supervisor for the Petroleum and Lubricants division in 1981. He was a member of the Caledonia Church of Christ. A soft-spoken man who loved his family dearly, he was a proud patriot. He loved the outdoors, "piddling" in his shop, taking care of his lawn and enjoyed vegetable gardening. A wonderful husband and father, he was especially proud of his role as "Paw Paw" to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister: Peggy St. John.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years Sarah Romans; four children: Tommy Romans of Caledonia; Kenneth (Shawnna) Romans of Columbus; Michael (Toni) Romans of Brandon, MS; and Mary (Stuart) Kinard of Columbus; grandchildren: Scott (Sonja) Volheim, Alan Romans, Austin Romans, Bradley (Alex) Romans, Eric Romans, Jacob Romans, Sara Beth Kinard, Anna Kate Kinard, Channing (Tyler) Peebles and Alexis Willingham; and great grandchildren: Gabe and Mia Volheim, Jesse Louise Romans and John Mason Peebles.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Scott Volheim, Bradley Romans, Eric Romans, Austin Romans, Jacob Romans and Logan Bell.
