Edna Belcher Boone, 77, of Columbus, MS passed away Saturday, November 23, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-GT in Columbus, MS.

Visitation will be Monday, November 25, 2019, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A funeral service will be Tuesday, November 26, 2019, at 1:00 PM at Fairview Baptist Church, Columbus, MS with Bro. Joe Pate officiating and Bro. Breck Ladd, Bro. Tommy Gillon and Bro. Sammy Crawford assisting. Mrs. Boone will lie in state one hour prior to service. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ethelsville, AL.

Mrs. Boone was born November 19, 1942, to the late Arthur and Mary Britt Belcher in Ethlesville, AL. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church, Columbus, MS. Mrs. Boone worked as an Office Manager for Gunter Funeral Home in Columbus, MS for many years and recently as a hostess for Lowndes Funeral Home. In the early 1990s, she proudly represented Columbus as the first female to serve on the city council. Mrs. Boone loved her Lord, going to church, being with family, playing card and eating with her friends. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband- Bob Boone and brothers- Charles Belcher, Leon Belcher, and Tommy Belcher.

Mrs. Boone is survived by her daughter- Cecelia (Joe) Pate of Forest, MS; son- Donnie Jones of Columbus, MS; grandchildren- Leah (Luke) Pounders, Christina (Sabin) Neely, Heather Pate, Josh Jones; great-grandchildren- Sabin Neely, Libby Pounders, Leland Neely, Lucas Pounders; sister- Paulett White of Columbus, MS and great-grandchild to be- Lane Pounders.

Pallbearers will be Sabin Neely, Luke Pounders, Josh Jones, Art White, Charley White, Paul Hatch. Honorary Pallbearers will be Cheryl Forrester's Sunday School Class.
