Edna Mae Cooke Edna Mae Cooke, 76 of Columbus, MS passed away Friday, October 28, 2011 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Golden Triangle, Columbus, MS. Visitation for Mrs. Cooke will be Sunday, October 30, 2011 from 6 – 9 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral Services for Mrs. Cooke will be Monday, October 31, 2011 at 1 PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Roy Hawkins officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Webster Co. MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Cooke was born March 1, 1935 to the late Dewey Austin & Nellie Mae Edwards Goines in Webster County, MS. She moved to Columbus 55 years ago from Mathiston, MS. She was a member of McBee Baptist Church, Columbus, MS. Mrs. Cooke retired after 20 years as a cafeteria worker with Southern Cafeteria Vending Co. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, enjoyed working in the garden especially flower beds, camping and bluegrass festivals. Mrs. Cooke loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents Mrs. Cooke was preceded in death by her husband Fuller Dalton Cooke. Mrs. Cooke is survived by her son – Austin (Lois) Cooke, Columbus, MS, grandchildren – Amber Renae Cooke, Marshall Austin (Charlene) Cooke, Step –grandchildren – Shane Eads, Chris (Pam) Eads and Josh (Kelly) Eads, great-grandchildren – Gibson and Will Cooke and step-great-grandchildren – Zak, Codey, Kelsey, Tyler, Madi, Audrey, Morgan and Seth Eads. Pallbearers will be Shane Eads, Chris Eads, Zak Eads, Codey Eads, Amber Cooke, Marsh Cooke, Josh Eads and Alan Baucom. Honorary Pallbearers will be Nurses and Staff of 3rd and 5th Floor at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Golden Triangle, Columbus, MS.
