Edna Elizabeth Doss, 93, of Columbus, MS passed away Thursday, July 15, 2021, at her residence.

A visitation will be Sunday, July 18, 2021, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church from 2:00-3:00 P.M. Funeral service will follow at 3:00 P.M. with Dr. Bill Hurt officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing.

Edna was born on Sunday, February 12, 1928, in Cardwell, MO, to the late William and Sarah Crawford Bass. She lived in Arkansas for the first 40 years of her life where she married her first husband, Myron Phillips. Together they farmed cotton, soybeans and raised three daughters. They moved to Columbus in where they continued farming until Myron's death. While working at Paul's Drive-In she met her second husband, Bill. After Bill's retirement from the Air Force, they returned to make a home in Columbus where Edna could most often be found tending her beloved flowers and gardens. A faithful member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church for over 35 years, she taught Sunday School, served in various ministries, and was loved by many. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husbands- Myron H. Phillips, and William F. Doss; daughter- Karen Porter; brothers- John Bass,  and William "Sam" Bass; sisters- Ila Hudson, Willie Mae Dooley, Esther Hastings, and Shirley Crouch.

Mrs. Doss is survived by her daughters- Carolyn (David) Fox of Shreveport, LA, and Bonida (Earl) Kimbrough of Starkville, M; grandchildren- Shannon McCollum, Heather Atkins, Jason Montgomery, Ashley Bradberry, David Bartimus, Billy Doss, and Tamara Doss, and 12 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be David Bartimus, Jerry Porter, David Fox, John Bartimus, Jason Montgomery, and David Honeycutt. Honorary pallbearers will be Jon Bradberry, Joshua Bradberry, Andrew Bradberry, and Benjamin Bradberry.
