Edna Earle Nickoles Jordan, 93, of Columbus, MS passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at her residence.
Visitation will be Friday, April 11, 2025, from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral Service will be Friday, April 11, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS with Dr. Bill Hurt officiating. Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Columbus, MS.
Mrs. Jordan was born April 22, 1931, in Pickens County, Alabama to the late Charlie Nickoles and Julie Bell Junkin Nickoles Flurry. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Columbus, MS. Mrs. Jordan and her husband were the owners and operators of Colony and Whiddon Mobile Home Park for 20 years. She was a woman of many names, moma, sister, grandma, gigi, and friend. She enjoyed playing cards and loved traveling with her mom, Julie. Mrs. Jordan especially, loved going to the coast to visit Amy, up to Virginia to visit Pat and family and beautiful New Orleans. She was not only a traveler, Edna was also a gifted musician and singer. Mrs. Jordan loved singing with her sisters in the church choir, as well as playing the piano, guitar, harmonica, bass, and organ. She loved nothing more than being with her family, especially her great-grandchildren. Mrs. Jordan was known as the "Baby Whisperer" because she was able to soothe any baby. She also enjoyed playing and boardgames with her grandkids and great-grandkids. Mrs. Jordan enjoyed welcoming people into her home and cooking them a nice meal, especially butter bean dumplings. As she got older, she enjoyed watching soap operas with her great-grand dog, Thea. Mrs. Jordan was very proud of her daughters, granddaughters, and their families. Her home was always filled with laughter, love, good food, and old stories. Mrs. Jordan will be missed by all. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jordan is preceded in death by her husband- Samuel Jordan; sisters Lorene (LV) Cowart, Jessie (Jr.) Austin, and Gladus (Dwaine) Clark; brother- James (Alice) Nickoles.
Mrs. Jordan is survived by her daughters- Brenda Davidson and Pat (David) Hollins; grandchildren- April Coleman, Amy Shepherd, Emily Harman, and Julie Lytton; great-grandchildren-Sarah Perkins, McKinley Coleman, Ayden Coleman, Kellen Coleman, Thane Shepherd, Hannah Howell, Hadley Lytton, Georgia Wimmer, Max Wimmer, Heidi Lytton and Grant Lytton; great great grandchildren- Trenton Perkins, Laney Magness, and Trace Magness; and sister- Ann (Dan) Harris.
Pallbearers will be Tony Clark, Brad Clark, Chuck Bishop, Ayden Coleman, Kellen Coleman, and Thane Shepherd. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dan Harris, Gary Coleman, Terry Nickoles, Beverly Smith, Randy Nickoles, Gary Nickoles, Jerry Nickoles, Larry Austin, and Rick Cowart.
