Obituary

Edna Grace Wells, 92, of Flint, TX passed away Thursday, February 10, 2022, in Flint, TX.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 19, 2022, from 1:00 PM- 2:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS.  Funeral services will be on February 19, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel, Columbus, MS with Bro. Glen Edmonds officiating and Bro. Dan Louman assisting.  Interment will be at Shiloh Cemetery, Vernon, AL with Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing.

Mrs. Wells was born January 11, 1930, in Vernon, AL to the late Myrt Allen and Fannie Myrtle Rector Allen.  She attended Border Springs Baptist Church.  Mrs. Wells worked as an Assembly Line Worker for many years.  While living in Detriot, Grace became a huge Detroit Tiger fan.  She would often take her kids to a Sunday doubleheader game.  She also was a big Alabama football fan, attending many games with her brother.  Her kids called Grace "Lucky" as she always seem to win at the slots.  She would play poker with her kids once achieving a Royal Flush.  Grace also did cross-stitch, quilting, and playing word search.  All these things were good but Grace's true love was her family, from the kids to the great-great-grand kids.  She enjoyed them from holding them as babies through school and young adulthood.

She is preceded in death by five brothers; James Allen, Franklin Allen, Cecil Allen, Edward Allen, Hezzie Allen, one sister; Vadus Johnson, two sons; Jimmy Davis Hankins, and Samuel Lynn Hankins, and two husbands; Chester C. Hankins and John C. Wells.

Mrs. Wells is survived by her daughter- Linda Diane Westmoreland, Flint, TX;  4 sons- Jerry W. Hankins, Ronald Edward Hankins, Randy Hankins, Richard Allen Hankins; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Jimmy Hankins, Brian Hankins, Robert Hankins, Marc Hankins, Sarah Hankins, and Ronnie Hankins.    Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Hankins, and the Border Springs Women's Sunday School Class.

Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, Mississippi Chapter, 855 S. Pear Orchard Road, Ridgeland, MS 39157.
