Edward C. "Ed" Williams Mr. Edward C. "Ed" Williams, 67, of Columbus, MS passed away, Sunday, July 24, 2011 at his residence. Visitation for Mr. Williams will be Wednesday, July 27, 2011 from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral Services for Mr. Williams will be Thursday, July 28, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Columbus, MS with Bro. Steve Lammons officiating and Bro. Tommy Whaley and Bro. Charlie Whitney assisting. He will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home, directing. Mr. Williams was born January 18, 1944 to the late David Leslie "Shorty" and Ida Lou Morton Williams in Columbus, MS. He lived in Columbus his entire life. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where he taught Ed Williams Sunday School Class for 27 years. He was a Deacon and Cemetery director of Pleasant Hill Cemetery. He was a stock car racing fan, owner and mechanic. He was a member of Still Hunting Club an avid crappie fisherman, hunter, gardener. He loved his church, his children and his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his sister Frances Crumpton and brothers Donnie Williams and Shorty Williams. Mr. Williams is survived by his wife - Lynda Williams, son - Mike (Bonnie) Williams, daughter - Susan (Neal) Austin, brother - Everett (Faye) Williams, Sisters - Louise Pack, Elaine (Ken) Simon, and Linda Stotts all of Columbus, MS. Grandchildren - Jessica (Trey) Veazey, Jenna (Ryan Musgrove) Williams, Ben Williams, Michaela Williams, Hunter Austin and Chase Austin, Mother in law - Frances Gillett Gastinel. Pallbearers will be Buddy McCullough, Ben Williams, Hunter Austin, Chase Austin, Sammy Barksdale, Trey Veazey, Dale Brewer, and Tyler Jones. Honorary Pallbearers will be James Glenn, Randy Tolleson's Sunday School Class members, Jimmy Austin, Herbert Junkin, Walt Long, Don Pennington, Clyde Sansing, Doug Rickman, Danny Malone, Lynn Johnson, Barry Honeycutt and Don Clardy.
