Elaine Owens Turner, 73 of Columbus, MS went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 27, 2023, at her residence after a long battle with COPD.

A memorial service will be Sunday, April 2, 2023, at 2:00 PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bill Hurt officiating.  Lowndes Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.

Mrs. Turner was born January 10, 1950, in Wayne, MO to the late Harold Ockenfels and Mable Montague Racz.   She grew up in Palo, IA where she was a homemaker.  Mrs. Turner then moved to Texas where she worked as a jailer.  She then followed her husband to Florida and then Columbus, MS where she was a cashier and team leader at Sprint Mart for over 20 years.  Mrs. Turner gave her life to Christ as an adult at Ethelsville Baptist Church; she enjoyed gardening, working with plants, and especially spending time with her grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Turner was preceded in death by her adopted father – John Racz; husband – Donald Owens; daughter – Dawn Dealey; grandchildren – Tiffany Hendrickson and Tyler McKinney; sisters – Alice Sorensen and Patricia Grady; brothers – Leroy Racz and Leslie Racz.

Mrs. Turner is survived by her husband – Dexter Turner; daughters – Dana Robertson and Danita (Ronnie) Owens; grandchildren – Cody (Dixie) Bean, Caleb Owens, Claudia Robertson, Dustin Owens, and Danielle Owens; 5 great-grandchildren; sisters – Carol Staton, Diana Lindsey, Theresa Racz, Jonnie Fleanor and Echo Willis; and brother – Harold Racz.
