Harley Eldon Barham, 88, of Steens, MS passed away Friday, October 4, 2019 at his residence.
Visitation will be Monday, October 7, 2019 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Allen Jones officiating. Interment will be in Furnace Hill Cemetery, Vernon, AL with Lowndes Funeral Home Columbus, MS directing.
Mr. Barham was born April 29, 1931 to the late Robert Doyle and Ruby Grace Adair Barham in Lowndes County, MS. He graduated from S.D. Lee High School Columbus, MS in 1949. Mr. Barham served in the United States Army as a Corporal from 1950 to 1952. He married the former Mary Dobbins on April 7, 1956 in Caledonia, MS. Mr. Barham worked as a salesman for Parker Furniture and Appliances in Columbus for over 40 years. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed feeding his friends, supplying them with everything from his big garden. Mr. Barham loved spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his friends and family. In addition to his parents, Mr. Barham is preceded in death by his wife- Mary Frances Dobbins Barham and brothers- Frank Barham and Charlie Barham.
Mr. Barham is survived by his sons- Terry Barham of West Point, MS, Brian (Sallie) Barham of Birmingham, AL; daughter- Beverly (Bill) Lannaman of Navarre, FL; grandchildren- Aaron Brock, Cheryl (Jason) Herndon, Allison Sigur, Leslie Sigur, Elizabeth (Caleb) Wilson, Alaina Barham, Hayley Barham; great-grandchildren- Kamrin Brock, Madison Brock, Alyssa Herndon, Dylan Herndon; sister- Frances Taylor of Crawford, MS; brother- Paul Barham of West Point, MS.
Pallbearers will be Clyde Hollis, Jay McCrary, Caleb Wilson, Andy Wilson, Roy Black, Jeff Dowdle. Honorary pallbearers will be Harlie Linley, Elbert Logan, Wade McCrary, Dan Briggs.
Memorials may be made to charity of donor's choice.
