Elie Hugh Jordan, 84 of West Point, MS passed away, Sunday, May 6, 2018 at North Mississippi Medical Center, West Point, MS.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at Memorial Gardens, Columbus, MS with his son-in-law, Kennie Prince officiating and Lowndes Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Jordan was born June 28, 1933 in Vernon, AL to the late Alvie L. and Quillie L. Perkins Jordan. He was a member of Fannin Baptist Church, Brandon, MS. Mr. Jordan was a retired heavy equipment operator and truck driver. Mr. Jordan had a large family with many children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and he loved all of them dearly. In addition to his parents, Mr. Jordan was preceded in death by his daughter – Gail Nelson, son – Elis Hugh Jordan, Jr., and brothers – Donald Jordan and Wayne Jordan.
Mr. Jordan is survived by his daughters – Betty (Kennie) Prince, Cynthia Jordan and Peggy (Billy) Goodman; sisters – Johnie Deaton, Inez Chandler, Faye Jordan and Opal Holmes; brother – Hoyte (Shirley) Jordan; 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren, 4 nieces and 9 nephews.
Pallbearers will be Michael Dixon, Glenn Dixon, Tony King, Gary Cosby, Billy Jordan, Tommy Dennis and Brandon Jordan.
