Obituary

Ella Mae Box, 83 of Steens, MS passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – GT, Columbus, MS. Visitation will be Friday, February 15, 2013 from 1-2:30 pm at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral services will be Friday, February 15, 2013 at 2:30 pm at Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel, Columbus, MS with Bro. Jimmy Ray officiating and Bro. Bill Webb assisting. Interment will be in Egger Cemetery, Caledonia, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Box was born June 22, 1929 in Webster County to the late Eura S. and Ella Canterbury Dunn. She has been a resident of Lowndes County since 1954. Mrs. Box was a member of McBee Baptist Church and worked for and retired from American Bosch after 35 years of service. She loved to camp, fish, play golf, gardening especially flowers and play seek a word games. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Box is preceded in death by a son-Larry L. Box, grandson- Stephen Box and granddaughter-Melissa Box. Mrs. Box is survived by husband- Shelby L. Box, Steens, MS, daughter- Glenda (Jerry) Box Morrison, Columbus, MS, sons- Ernie Wayne (Jenna) Box and Bobby L. (Jeanittia) Box, both of Steens, MS, sisters- Virginia Morrow and Faye (Elton) Harrell, 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Pallbearers will be Scott Box, Keith Perrigin, Chris Perrigin, Mark Frady, Brad Box, Wesley Box and James Turner. Memorials may be made to McBee Baptist Church Building Fund, 2846 Hwy. 50 E, Columbus, MS 39702-9543.
