Ellen Jean Simpson, 82, of Columbus, MS passed away Monday, December 14, 2020, at her residence.

Mrs. Simpson was born on November 26, 1938 in Greenhill, AL to the late Cora Hazel Gladney Gray and William Nathan Gay. She worked at Baptist Memorial Hospital-GT for years as a switchboard operator and also was a manager at the Mini Mart at Columbus Air Force Base. Mrs. Simpson loved coloring on her tablet and spending time with family. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Simpson is preceded in death by her husband- Luther D Simpson; brother-  Melvin Gray; and grandchild- Kristina Howell.

Mrs. Simpson is survived by daughters-  Pam Simpson, Wanda Allred, and Charlotte Bullock; son- David Simpson; grandchildren- Brandon Simpson, Luke Anderson, Christopher Simpson, and Sarah Simpson; 4 great-grandchildren; sister- Gaynell Sandlin, Helen Lentz, Oma Mae Overton, Rosa Davis, Myra Patrick, Mary Ann Gray, and Jane Moore; brothers- W.N. Gray, Henry Gray, Ray Gray, and Jimmy Gray.
