Elna Corbell Hope, 86, of Columbus, MS, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2024, at her residence.

Visitation will be Friday, August 2, 2024, from 1:00 P.M. – 2:00 P.M. at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Graveside Service will be at 2:30 P.M. at Furnace Hill Cemetery in Vernon, Alabama with Pastor Ben Yarber officiating.  Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS will be directing.

Mrs. Hope was born April 2, 1938, in Fernbank, Alabama, to the late Roy Clifton Corbell and Dena Mae Rector Corbell. Mrs. Hope started working at a garment plant, then worked at Columbus Air Force Base, and finally worked for 24 years as a claims representative for the Social Security Administration. She enjoyed gardening and spending every moment with all her children, grandchildren, and so many more children throughout her life. Mrs. Hope loved taking care of people and enjoyed cooking and baking. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hope is preceded in death by her husband- Felix Hope, Jr.; son- Terry Hope; great granddaughter- Eleanor Mann;  sisters- Dorothy Mae Corbell, Amy Lou Corbell, Iva Lois Corbell, Avie Ola Corbell, and Doris Virginia Corbell; brothers- Buddy Cloyce Corbell, Eddie Dean Corbell, and Dennis Gene Corbell.

Mrs. Hope is survived by sons- Tommy (Tina) Hope and Jeffrey Hope; grandchildren- Chris (Lisa) Hope, Mike Hope, Patricia Hope, Kimberly Hope, Heather (David) Henley, Allen Hope, and Jennifer Baswell; 16 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren; sisters- Eulene Bernice Corbell and Judy Ann Corbell.

Pallbearers will be- Cade Weathers, William Yaw, Steven Price, Tommy Hope, Chris Hope, and Mike Hope. Honorary Pallbearers will be – Dalton Kirkley, Tommy McCafferty and Jeffrey Hope.
