Elsie M. Brownlee, 94, of Columbus, MS passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at her residence.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 12, 2023, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A visitation will be Wednesday, December 13, 2023, from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at Mineral Springs Baptist Church.  The Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 A.M. at the church with Bro. David Blakney officiating. Interment will be at Mineral Springs Cemetery, McShan, Alabama with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Brownlee was born on August 24, 1929, to the late Rosie Nell Harcrow McDaniel and Wilburn Henry McDaniel. Mrs. Brownlee was a homemaker. She was a God fearing woman, who was a lifelong active member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church in McShan, Alabama. Mrs. Brownlee was an expert seamstress, loved reading, gardening, and loved spending time with her family and church family. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brownlee is preceded in death by her husband- Henry Clay Brownlee, Sr.; sons- Henry Clay Brownlee, Jr., and Daniel Elias Brownlee; brothers- Henry Oneal McDaniel, Herbert McDaniel, Harrell McDaniel, and Jerry McDaniel; sister – Ann McDaniel.

Mrs. Brownlee is survived by daughter-Gail (Robert Sieffert) Brownlee, daughter-in-laws- Melinda Brownlee, and Phyllis Brownlee; grandchildren- - Kristopher Clay Brownlee, Ashley Nichole (Christopher) Hall, and Magen Danielle (Christopher) Page, great grandchildren- Azriella Hall and  Adeline Hall; brother- Bobby McDaniel and John E. McDaniel; sister- Sarah McAteer, and Tammy Gilliam; sister-in-law- Barbara (Bill) Strickland and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Kristopher Brownlee, Billy Strickland, Dennis McDaniel, Timmy McDaniel, Philip McDaniel, Luke McDaniel, Mike McDaniel, Ken Shirley, and Jesse Reece.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Sallie Murray, Charles Carter, Hershel Abrams, Larry Abrams, Earl Jr. Featherston, Keith McAteer, Mitchell McAteer, and Hammond Brownlee.
